2008 Presidential Dollar Coins
The United States honored our Nation’s Presidents by issuing $1 circulating coins featuring their images in the order that they served. The United States Mint issues four Presidential $1 Coins per year. For 2008 these are #5 James Monroe, #6 John Quincy Adams, #7 Andrew Jackson and #8 Martin Van Buren. Each coin has a common reverse design featuring a striking rendition of the Statue of Liberty. These coins feature larger, more dramatic artwork, as well as edge-incused inscriptions of the year of minting or issuance, "E Pluribus Unum," "In God We Trust" and the mint mark.
