Peace Dollars, PCGS and NGC
On this page is listed only PCGS and NGC Certified Peace Dollars.
First minted in 1921, Peace silver dollars were created to commemorate the end of World War One and celebrate America’s emergence as a major world power.
Designed by renowned medalist Anthony De Francisci, they feature the radiant profile of Miss Liberty on the obverse and the powerful American Eagle image on the reverse. Throughout the Roaring Twenties, Peace dollars jingled in American pockets to let the good times roll! By 1935, mired in the Depression, the U.S. ceased production of Peace dollars altogether and would never again mint a dollar coin from real silver.
Still, the Peace dollar remains a symbol of unwavering American optimism and resilience during the best and worst of times, and will always be treasured as the last true American silver dollar.
